ABOUT LÖV

Our name is deeply rooted in nature and connected to our heritage. LÖV is an abriviation, and comes from our founder’s name - Eklöv - meaning oakleaf. This breaks down to ‘LÖV’ meaning ‘leaf. Traditional Scandinavian surnames are often influenced by nature, such as the deep and beautiful valleys, the rolling mountains and flowing streams.

This is well connected with the importance of nature in Scandinavia. Our values follow this connection and deep rooted relationship with nature, and we work to protect this by minimizing our carbon footprint at every possible opportunity.

Scandinavian Style...

A Scandinavian influence sits at the heart of all of our designs. From luxurious organic arrangements, to sustainably sourced flowers and environmentally friendly processes, we find inspiration in the Scandinavian approach.

A Sustainable Approach…

Sustainability is key to LÖV - the measures that we take allows us to produce beautiful arrangements, while ensuring that we have little or no negative impact on our planet.

Just ten years ago, the then UK minister for International Development encouraged buyers to source cut flowers from Kenya rather than using European markets like Holland. This was advised to minimise carbon emissions, however a closer look highlighted issues with other environmental factors. A study has now shown that there are little in the way of benefits to sourcing flowers from Kenya instead of Holland.

However, choosing to work with local suppliers can make a difference. This is why we choose to source as many of our stems and foliage locally from England, to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible.

In addition, we also turn any waste we create into an organic flower food, by composting cut offs, stems and other waste. While working across other florists in London, our founder noticed a huge amount of waste was created each and every week. When she started her own floral business, she decided to be part of the solution, instead of the problem. This means that all excess leaves, stems, old and broken flowers are reused to create an organic fertilizer that we use in our arrangements to ensure they last as long as possible.

NEVER COME AT THE COST
OF THE PLANET."
