Lily Care Guide
Lilies are long-lasting flowers and often arrive in bud so you can enjoy watching them open gradually at home.
On arrival:
— Remove all packaging carefully.
— Recut 2–3cm from the base of each stem using clean, sharp floral snips.
— Place immediately into a clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water and flower food.
— Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
— Keep the flowers in a cool position away from direct sunlight, heat sources and ripening fruit.
— Refresh the water every 2–3 days and recut the stems if needed.
To encourage the buds to open
Use fresh lukewarm water and keep the lilies at normal room temperature. The buds should gradually open over several days.
Pollen-free varieties
Pollen-free lilies, such as rose lilies, have been bred to reduce or eliminate visible pollen, making them cleaner for home interiors, clothing and table settings.
Important pet safety
Lilies are highly toxic to cats and can also be harmful to other pets if ingested. Keep lilies well out of reach of pets at all times.
