Trim 2–3cm from the stems at an angle before placing in water.
Remove leaves that would sit below the waterline to keep the water clean.
Arrange in a clean vase with fresh, cool water and flower food.
Refresh the water every 2–3 days and re-trim the stems when needed.
Keep carnations somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight, radiators and ripening fruit.
Gently remove faded blooms to keep the remaining flowers looking their best.
